About
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Australia is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals.
PETA Australia operates under the simple principle that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment or abuse in any way. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in farms, the clothing trade, laboratories, and the entertainment industry.
The success of international PETA entities’ campaigns against mulesing in conjunction with Australians’ demand for information on animal protection issues prompted the establishment of PETA Australia in 2008.
PETA Australia works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, legislation, celebrity involvement and protest campaigns.
