Can You Guess the Most Vegan-Friendly Australian Airline?
As travellers take off on their summer holidays, PETA is giving Jetstar a Proggy Award for being the Most Vegan-Friendly Airline in Australia!
Jetstar’s new menu includes two vegan options – SumoSalad’s Lentil & Tabbouleh Salad with Falafel and Mr Lee’s Noodles in the Zen Garden Vegetables variety. Yum!
Australians seek out vegan food everywhere, whether they’re in a supermarket or café or 30,000 feet in the air. Cruelty-free culture has taken off in Australia, and we applaud Jetstar for listening to its vegan customers.
This marks the first time that vegans can purchase cruelty-free meals in-flight without having to pre-order them well in advance. The menu is now available on the airline’s international flights and will arrive on domestic flights in February.
Interest in vegan living has exploded in Australia over the past 12 months. According to Google Trends data, Australians searched online for the word “vegan” more than people in any other nation during 2017.
As well as sparing many animals daily suffering and a terrifying death, people who go vegan reduce their chances of suffering from heart disease, strokes, diabetes, cancer, and obesity.
Vegan meals are also better for the environment, as the meat industry is a leading producer of the greenhouse-gas emissions that contribute to climate change. Choosing vegan options when flying is a great way to help offset your carbon footprint.
There are so many great reasons to go vegan, and it’s never been easier to get started. So what are you waiting for? Grab your free vegan starter kit here:
