Liam Hemsworth and Courtney Act Crowned PETA’s Sexiest Vegan Celebrities For 2017
A staggering number of celebrities went vegan in 2017, so it’s been harder than ever to crown Australia’s Sexiest Vegan Celebrities. In the end, there were two who stood out – not just for being sexy but, more importantly, for speaking up for animals: Liam Hemsworth and Courtney Act.
Independence Day star Hemsworth, who last year won PETA US’ version of the award, famously encouraged his millions of Instagram followers to watch What the Health this year.
“If you care about your health, animal welfare or the planet we all live on, you must watch this documentary,” he wrote.
Hemsworth also famously rescued his animal companions, Tani and Dora, from a shelter and is an advocate of animal adoption, saying, “If you’re going to get a dog, get a rescue.”
Drag Diva From Down Under Act has been busy this year starring in various reality TV shows, including MTV’s Single AF, and touring the United States with her Lump of Coal show, but she’s still found time to create a YouTube series called “Cooking With Courtney”, in which she informs her guests and viewers about vegan cuisine. “It’s better for me, better for the environment, and better for the animals,” says Act.
Hemsworth and Act faced tough competition from the likes of Natasha Oakley, The Veronicas, 360, Montaigne, Jona Weinhofen, Teresa Palmer, and Ruby Rose (who won this year’s PETA US award). Past winners of PETA’s annual contest include David Campbell, Morgan Mitchell, and Bridget Malcolm.
